Power over Ethernet (PoE) Administration | NETSCOUT

Troubleshooting Power over Ethernet (PoE) Webcast

Power over Ethernet (PoE) was developed to enable power (48 V DC) to be delivered to an IP device via its data cable where a separate power supply may not be available. PoE simplifies and reduces installation costs as only one cable needs to be installed, supplying both data and power. This can be useful in older buildings where it’s not easy to install additional power for powering devices that may be ceiling or wall mounted, such as cameras and wireless access points.

Devices that typically use PoE

  • Security Cameras
  • Access Points
  • VoIP Phones

Most Common Problems:

  • Cable faults
  • Switch provisioning of PoE

If you have ever had these issues and wonder how to troubleshoot them, this webinar is for YOU! Here is the agenda for the webinar:

  • Benefits of using PoE
  • Basic PoE functionality
  • Points of failure
  • PoE performance validation
  • Tools & methods for troubleshooting PoE
