Internet of Things, Unplugged
The Wi-Fi industry is still reeling from wave-after-wave of BYOD issues, and yet another, even more impactful phenomenon is now looming large. The Internet of Things (IoT) will soon introduce a radical shift from networks that primarily support human-directed computing devices to networks having to support a nearly overwhelming number of self-directed computing devices. Density handling, security, IP layer, and many other network facets will be massively impacted, with a ramp-up time that seems like it’s “practically overnight.” Be afraid. IoT cometh.
