Cadence Bank Case Study
Visual Performance Manager Gives Regional Banking and Financial Services Company Complete Visibility Into Application and Connection Performance
Cadence Bank is a regional banking and financial services company operating more than 100 locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Like many companies in the financial services world, Cadence is growing through acquisition, which presents some unique challenges around network integration. Without proper visibility into these networks, the IT team struggles to effectively combine, optimize and manage network resources. In addition, with the company relying heavily on the network and key financial service applications, being able to quickly identify and remediate performance issues are key to business success. Unfortunately, without a window into key performance data, the team can’t accurately assess or manage network and application usage.
Combining the networks of previously separate companies into a single, integrated network requires a deep level of understanding about how all of the legacy hosted applications, third-party cloud-based services and users are interacting with the network. Cadence chose Visual Performance Manager (VPM) from NETSCOUT to provide network and application performance monitoring. In addition to quickly helping Cadence identify areas of overlap among applications and services, VPM allows Cadence to uncover the underlying causes of performance bottlenecks resulting from unknown or unplanned application activity. Cadence estimates that VPM will pay for itself in 6-8 months by helping identify poorly utilized or redundant broadband circuits across its branch office network, and allow them to better manage and isolate problems with key applications.
